OUR WINEMAKERS

The Ebenezer Vineyard Shiraz is made at Peter Lehmann Wines by their top winemakers and then nurtured to maturity by Mark Jamieson of Irvine Wines in Eden Valley in the Barosssa.

Mark has a degree in Oenology from Adelaide University and brings to Mt Toolleen a wealth of experience in completing wines. In his role as Senior Winemaker at the contract bottling company Vinpac, Mark gained considerable experience “finishing-off” wines for a hundred or so other winemakers .

The Heathcote wine is made at Pondilowie at Bridgewater by a dynamic young wine making husband and wife team, Dominic and Krystina Morris.

Krystina is a graduate of Oenology from the Adelaide University and has experience in many aspects of the wine industry. She has worked as a winemaker in South Australia’s Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale regions as well as in the Alentejo and Douro regions of Portugal.

Dominic has a particular affinity with the production of red wine and has worked in the red wine cellars of some of Australia’s long established premium wineries and has produced vintages in France and the Alentejo and Douro wine regions of Portugal.

He worked for Quinta do Crasto, in the Douro Valley and was invited to continue his work as winemaker when their 1995 Douro Red was awarded “International Red Wine of the Year” Dominic now flies to Portugal three times a year to oversee the winemaking at Quinta do Crasto. His dedication and experience has helped them achieve their reputation as one of the leading table wine producers in Portugal.

Dominic and Krystina Morris are an impressive winemaking team and their unique skills and expertise and are evident in the quality of wine being produced for Mt Tolleen.
