Ebenezer Shiraz

Mt Toolleen is an elite Australian boutique wine maker that brings together the extensive experience of leading wine and hospitality industry people to produce small parcels of premium quality wine.

Founded in 2002 by Barry Woods and Duncan McKenzie Mt Toolleen set out to produce exceptional quality wine using the best grapes they could source for the enjoyment of friends, members, selected restaurants, and wine lovers all over the world.

After carefully selecting grapes from the finest wine regions in Australia and where possible, from fruit grown in its own or associated vineyards, they engaged some of Australia’s top winemakers to produce the wine.

The result is the production of an exciting range of premium wines, including the award winning Mt Toolleen 2002 Ebenezer Vineyard Shiraz.

Despite its relative youth as a wine producer, Mt Toolleen has already managed to scoop the most prestigious wine export award for 2004-2005 from a selection of over 14,800 entries.

The Company is now producing outstanding premium Shiraz, some of which is made from grapes grown in the central Victoria region of Heathcote and from the Ebenezer vineyard situated in the area known as the Golden Mile in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. The Ebenezer Vineyard is owned by a syndicate including Barry Woods and well known Barossa Valley wine makers Peter Lehmann and Ivan Limb and was established in 1998.

Over the next 3-5 years, most of the Company’s premium quality wine will be made from grapes grown on the Ebenezer vineyards and Heathcote or associated vineyards managed by the company.
